Living the island life has lots of wonderful lifestyle benefits. However, what women commonly experience are the effects of the sun and the lack of moisture on their hair. Two such professionals that are doing amazing makeovers in the area of Cudjo Key are Jon Haigwood and his wife Nancy Jo, both owners of “Rolling with Scissors” a mobile hair salon based in Lake Suzy, Florida, and servicing SW Florida, who frequently visit the Keys in their fully equipped, 27-foot mobile hair salon to perform makeovers.
For the best and full makeover experience, the Haigwood's have partnered up with Crystal Smith from Key West Florida, a professional makeup artist and professional photographer of Island Celebrity Photography. The latest makeover that this dynamic husband and wife team performed was on model Sevanah Rose Serrel of Key West, Florida. Sevanah is a wife and mother of 3 little children who enjoy the island life but it does not leave her a lot of "me-time". To add that special sparkle and transform her look, this photoshoot was done with the notion to also make her day.
The look transformation began with the hair. As seen in the before and after photos, Sevanah has very brassy blonde hair, with a dry texture. The blonde shade was washing out her skin tone and hiding her beautiful green eyes. To change and improve that appearance, Nancy Jo Haigwood opted for a semi-permanent hair color that is safe for the hair. The idea with the coloring was to save some of the highlighted strands by foiling her hair and changing the tone of the previous blonde to a more subtle, fresh, and natural blonde shade. In between the foils, the hair was colored one level lighter than Sevanah’s natural hair color, which has eliminated the blonde. The final result was fabulous – her eyes popped and her skin tone looked fresh and healthy.
For the makeup part, Crystal Smith accentuated her green eye color with a deep turquoise eyeliner and finished with a brown smokey ash eyeshadow. She added peach blush on her cheekbones to complement her "sun-kissed" glow. This combination of these makeup tones and hair color formed a perfect image for Sevanah enhancing the natural beauty she already had. This makeover was finished with a photography session that was more than satisfying for Sevanah.
